We are twin flames. Two soul that are always meant to be together.. Sometimes it takes times, sometimes it takes a paralel universe or something… But the thing about twin flames is that nothing can keep them apart.. They are a magic unto themselves, and together they light the way for all of universe..

Terima kasih inazuma.. Terima kasih biru ku.. 🦆🦆

Maaf Hari ini aku masih merindukanmu..

Can anyone explain why animal agriculture is supposedly one of the major drivers of climate change? I keep reading things that state that like it’s self-evident but don’t explain how

like animals give off carbon dioxide but is the problem that the total animal biomass is too high? If that’s the case, how? Has there not been an overall loss of biomass from the reduction in numbers of many, many animals like bison, or has it balanced out somehow?

If there are so many animals that it unbalances the climate of the entire earth, how? How is so much more energy entering the system now? What limitation was there before that’s no longer present?

Something about this isn’t adding up in my head

One thing I can say that I haven’t seen anyone else in the notes: If you know the pyramid of energy in ecology, only 10% of the energy that goes into one trophic level of an ecosystem moves on to the next one. In normal words, To get X calories of beef, you need to feed a cow about 10X calories of plants. At a global scale, this means that it’s just wildly inefficient to feed humans with meat and not plants, especially when you consider the water and space costs. Of course, I think that animal agriculture can be perfectly sustainable when it’s kept at the local level and respect is given to the animals and the environment. But yes, I think that once we’ve solved some of our bigger environmental issues, reducing meat consumption will be a pretty high priority for sustainability.

For what it’s worth, I still eat meat and animal products (locally sourced as much as possible), and I don’t think it’s really an issue of personal responsibility - While individual efforts help, we won’t see change until governments and corporations actually change.

Right. For what it’s worth, meat is useful under limited circumstances because a grazing animal can feed on plants that a human can’t eat. So it’s not exactly like we’re sacrificing 10x the amount of plant-based calories for those 1x animal based calories—because most of those plant based calories weren’t edible for us in the first place.

It’s not just about the raw amount of energy, it’s also about converting it to a form where we can actually benefit from it

however, a lot of grazing land could definitely be put to use growing plants that ARE edible for humans (though there are issues w growing those as well, like pesticides and such)
